Long story short: I need to get an outdoor terrestrial TV antenna mounted on a building where indoor and loft antennae can’t be used. Building has a curved sat dish mounting pole, but is too close to the wall to mount all the Yagi type antennae I have available locally or from Amazon as far as I can tell.

Are the panel type antennae any good, particularly in low signal areas?

If you're talking about grid aerials then yes, they're compact and reasonably high gain once you get away from Group A territory (chnls 21-37).

I have one of these and another aerial in the loft. Previous house owner was a bit mental when it came to council tv.

He had aerial sockets in all 3 bedrooms and one in the living room too. So he must have put the aerial in himself and the sockets in the bedrooms. The wiring in the attic is laughable but he did a good job on the sockets in the bedrooms.
