Outemu Blue switches, can you make them a little quieter?

Hi
I just got a new keyboard and i love the click from the blue switches but they are a little loud on the bottom out. they have this strange anti wobble sides around the mx compatible stem so i dont think you can use the rubber o ring method, so what could i do?

Not much other ways to do it than internally if they don't accept o-rings.

Is it definitely the bottoming out that is noisy? If so, this is generally amplified/massively dependent on keyboard construction and desk surface. Metal midplates can add or remove noise here. Placing the keyboard on a desk mat/mouse mat might help. O-rings would too, sadly.

Edit: is this the stem? An o-ring might still work here.

I reckon so - the o-ring goes over the shaft inside the keycap, and sits between that and the chassis of the switch. Worth a try!

Short of modifying the keyboard with MX Whites not really - even adding damping stickers won't help as it's the inside of the switch that's making the noise, not the shaft.

Yep, that whole blue thing is stem which moves when press key cap.
There really isn't much of switch frame where O-ring could hit it first to soften bottoming.

Then what do o-rings normally do?

They hit switch frame/housing before key cap can hit it or stem bottom.
Pics in here seem best, but depending on how high those supports are, not sure if o-ring would reach switch frame before something else bottoming.
That cross shaped Cherry MX key cap attachment point looks to be little shorter than those key cap supports.

Actually o-rings might make key caps sit little higher.

I've tried them - didn't get on with them.

I felt they made the keyboard feel too squeeky.

They're rubber rings - I didn't like the texture they added when bottoming out keys.

It's definitely a 'your mileage may vary' sort of thing - so get some as samplers and see if you get on with them.

If you use an extra large mouse pad that fit the keyboard, you will reduce the bottom out sound by a significant amount.
