Hi everyone, I’ve just started playing this game and I think it’s great so far. On launch it says that a game controller is recommended. Flying the ship (especially landing) is quite challenging though. Has anyone here managed to play on keyboard/mouse? If not, any controller recommendations?

I thought I would also create this thread for any other chat about this game, however let’s not include any spoilers please.

Interesting there's not been a thread for it. It was Skillups GOTY a few years back. (i think it remember it making two GOTY for him?)

Anyway, I started with m+kb and it was odd. Picked up a controller and while better in some regards, it was worse in others. For example, tapping keys feels easier to accurately navigate than moving a controller stick.

If you can manage with m+kb then stick with it.

I think I’m getting the hang of controlling the ship with the keyboard and mouse now. It’s been a great game so far though. I really hope I can see it through.

I thought it started poorly, then got quite good mid-way. The very end I didn't care much for.
Never bothered with the expansion, but I would like to play another game from this creator that was in a similar vein.

The soundtrack was excellent.

There was a thread for this a while ago: LINK, but it was quite short.
I played the whole game with K+M, mainly using short presses to control the thrusters. Absolutely fabulous game throughout IMO, just a shame you can only really enjoy it once.

Was really looking forward to this game and loved the idea but for some reason i couldn't play more than an hour, i felt as though the graphics needed to be a lot better, for a game where the main part is exploration i wanted to see beatiful environments and scenery but all i got was N64 level of graphics, may still give it another go this winter.

I'm facing similar issues everything just looks so basic and bland how am I supposed to be immersed into this world? The crazy spinning of the planets is also giving me a bit of nausea.

I find these kind of games are often incredibly overhyped so I'm not going to waste any more time.
