Outlook '10 - Saving to local machine

Hi All

Does anyone know a way of forcing outlook 2010 to save emails to the local machine rather than just reading from the exchange?

Failing that is there a way I can take a snapshot/backup of my inbox, sent items, folders, etc... that I can easily refer back to?

you just need to add your own personal folder (.pst) file and then set a message rule of some kind to move all messages as they arrive. sorry i don't have direct step by step instructions though. i don't have office on this machine.
