I've found a couple of websites that try to help me achieve this, but I haven't had much joy.

One suggests adding the username/password to the 'stored user names and passwords'. Now, running control keymgr.dll on my laptop (or getting to it through control userpasswords2) shows a dialog with Add/Remove/Properties.

On this new laptop, running MCE, it shows just Remove/Properties. There's no Add button! Any ideas?!

Add it through compmgmt.msc?

[edit]Or maybe I'm thinking of the wrong thing. I rarely use the pretty control panel stuff,
I had a lot more googling after I posted this... and found that in XP Home, Stored User Names & Passwords isn't available (unless it's for MS Passwords)... and as a consequence the 'remember my password' dialog wasn't available.

I did the regedit to enable MCE to join a domain again, and low and behold all the 'remember my password' checkboxes come flooding back. Sorted, I think!
