Hi there,
I have been using Outlook 2003 for several years without too many problems. I recently installed a collection of "MS Office 2003" updates from MS. Since installing these updates, Outlook now refuses to load beyond the splash screen. In other words, Outlook starts up as per normal but when it gets to the splash screen it wont load any further. The splash screen stays visible. There are no further disk accesses and Task Manager does not report Outlook as "not responding". I've tried leaving Outlook in this state for several minutes but it just sits there.
If I close outlook using Task Manager and then re-start Outlook then Outlook asks if I'd like to start Outlook in safe mode. If I say "yes" the Outlook starts OK.
I've tried updating my antivirus software (avast) but this update hasn't fixed the Outlook problem.
Any advice as to how to fix Outlook would be most welcome!
Many thanks,
Jack
