Here is the story.

I have a client that uses outlook 2003 and it runs so slow its a joke. When he moves from his mail to his calendar it will take 50 seconds to load it and will use 100% of the CPU.

I have looked through event viewer and there are some intermittent application hangs for outlook. They say:

Event ID: 1002

Hanging application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 11.0.8312.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I did Google the problem but couldn't see anything similar to what I was experiencing.

I did read something though saying try running outlook in safe mode, so i did and runs so nice its awesome.

So what I have done is to try and make normal outlook to run the same as safe mode. I have disabled all the add-ins as I thought that's what safe mode did but it still running really slow.

So my question it was does Outlook safe mode disable that I don't know?

Thank you in advance for any help you may have to offer :D

Is it running from an exchange server or from a local PST ?

If exchange - is it running in cached (ost) mode or not ?

If PST - how big is the PST ?

have you tried creating a new mail user with a fresh PST - is that faster ?

Good luck !
