This may sound stupid, but i don't have a great deal of experience with outlook, I've always used web based email. Basicaly i need help to figure out how to delete an email using outlook thats connected to my gmail account using imap.

If i delete stuff from my RSS feed, it just goes to the deleted items folder, and when thats emptied, thats it gone. When i delete an email from my gmail account using outlook, all it does is move it out of the inbox, its still visible if i go to the 'all mail' folder. If i try delete it in the all mail folder, it just puts a line through the 'from' and 'subject' fields, and nothing else. If I switch folder, then switch back to all mail, the strike-through is gone.

Thankyou. I dont see why selecting delete cant just delete the items, or at the very least move them to the deleated items folder. Having to go through the menu each time to purge seems like an unnecessary waste of time.
