Hi,

Is it possible to have 2 computers which are connected via a LAN to share the same email account in Outlook. By this I mean if one downloads the emails, these emails will be displayed on both PC's and vice versa.

Thanks in advance.

Yes,

Assuming you're using POP3 email, then there is a setting in Outlook which will "leave email on the server", this is all from memory (havent setup POP3 on outlook in yonks) but you'll probably also have "leave on the server until deleted from this account" or "leave on the server for X days" where X is adjustable.

That ought to suit your needs.

If you're on broadband, then you might want to look into using an IMAP4 based mailbox (assuming your ISP offers one, or you can track down a free one of the net), in this type of email, all mail, and mail folders, is kept on the mail server, not downloaded to your PC, thus you can view it from your PC, another PC, another one, a web client, a PDA, etc, etc. I'm a big fan of IMAP4, tho over a slow connection (PDA via Mobile phone) it can sometimes be a bind (overcome by using local caching).

Regards,

Gavin.

you could setup a PST file on one of the machines,

and then on the other PC, set the PST file so its looking for \\computername\outlook.pst

so then both machines will display the exact same e-mails

Only problem with that tho, I think only one person can access it at a time
