Anyone here use outlook as their email provider?
Has anyone else noticed an insane amount of spam lately, I'm getting an absolute ton.
Wondering if I'm alone with this spam issue!

Just noticed it today too. I added "xixvodka" (one of the ones spamming my inbox) to the block list but it's still somehow getting through. Ended up creating a rule to detect that word and instantly move to junk.

Bought my financee some of that XIX vodka and they didn't stopped emailing me with promotions, ended up blocking their email address because unsubscribing did nothing at all.

I don't think it's actually from them, I never bought vodka online and the spam email is about bitcoin. It's one of the random spam emails getting through, another couple that got through today is "currys" with a random number after the name. I think Outlook's spam filter is just broken today, but at least rules are working so I'm just manually creating a spam filter with that...

Few articles published today about this, so seems to be widespread.

I've previously created a rule that moves all emails that contain plain http links to junk.

You'll get the odd legit email where companies haven't updated their email templates and still serve http images or links(!), but you can exclude these domains from being filtered.

Also worth doing one that filters out the free image hosting sites too, the majority of spam emails tend to include these.

It's a mess, yeah, but it filters out 99% of the junk.

Outlook has been really bad today, I assume someone has bought the gemini data leak and is hitting it hard with the crypto scams.

I've been reporting them all but I don't know whether it has any effect

Aye same here. Noticed a big increase and some hitting inbox that shouldn't have. Although I am tempted by the free ninja air fryer from argos. :D

Had one or two slip through into the inbox over the last week or so.

Edit:
Another rule added to the list because MS can't filter out junk!

If sender address contains outlook.com and has an attachment move to junk folder.

God knows what's going on with their spam systems lately (last few months)
