outlook.com webmail launched...

I liked the old Hotmail, apart from its random crap javascript. This new interface is niceish but suffers from a severe lack of contrast and annoying delete buttons. Looks like they've tried to make it touch-friendly and Apple-esque and as usual haven't really succeeded on pulling something off. But if it works and it's fast, I don't care at all. I read my work email in plain text should I forget the mailbox password :p

Remove the account in the Hotmail app and add it again, using your new login credentials.
 
Looking at swapping over to this for Gmail, so I started moving my contacts over but I can't figure out how to add a picture to a contact?

Anyone done this yet?

Yep thats what I did this morning. Hmm the Hotmail app accepted my outlook credentials but any emails sent to @outlook.com dont get delivered to the phone.

Edit* It delivered the email after doing a resync.

i might be daft here but i signed up with my name but now it takes place of my hotmail account,is there a way to get my hotmail mail sent to this new account
 
We've noticed that you're part of a small group of customers who've recently had difficulty with the option to receive email from other accounts.

We wanted to let you know that we're aware of this issue and working to implement a fix as quickly as possible. For now, you won't see mail coming in from your other account, but once the issue is fixed, you'll automatically get all the mail from your other account in Hotmail or Outlook.com. Also, this issue should not affect the operation of your email in any other way.

For anyone else having problems receiving emails from other accounts like Yahoo, Gmail etc..

Pretty similar tbh although gmail does have 2 factor authentication which can be useful.

Pretty much comes down to personal preference, the days of "l33t" gmail users and "lol n00b" hotmail have long gone except in the minds of a few.

That and their 'are you a robot' schtick doesn't work on iPads. I will use outlook but are they going to change it again when something else comes out?

you can access your hotmail / live account through outlook.com without changing your @hotmail or @live.com
and you can create a new email with @outlook.com its your choice


personally i created a new email account with @outlook and kept the old email account and i can access it through outlook.com
outlook going to be the official site
its still in beta version at the moment and they are going to impelement IMAP soon
 
I like the new look too. I did like the old look as well though.

I know it is still in beta and issues will be ironed out but I find it isn't as fast sometimes and I get the metro loading dot thing at the top.
