Hi,

At work the domain is being changed for every user. My question is if you export all your outlook contacts into an excel document along with your personal DLs, when exporting back into Outlook onto the new domain do you need to re-add every user to your personal DL again or will the client automatically find it?

The actual email addresses wont be changing.

This is required ready for the documents / procedures that will be handed out to the end user.

Thanks

do you mean windows domain, or SMTP / internet domain name?

If you are using PST's and as long as you are using the contacts in the pst folder you dont need to export

if the DL's are made of lists of SMTP address' they will only need to be changed if the SMTP domain is changing..

what i mean is if you are using the outlook address book the address' and DL's are stored in the PST so as long as the users are set back up with the pst it will be ok - no need to export..

Sorry its a bit confusing trying to word it correctly. Basically a user will export there current Outlook contact lists along with there personal DLs. This will be saved on a network drive.

The will then login to a new machine on a new domain. They will then open the new Outlook client and import the Outlook clients.

For there own personal DLs will Outlook automatically find the users again from the GAL (same SMTP) or will then need to manually re-add each user into the DL?
