Outlook, emails and pst files

Have the beta of office outlook 2010 which is soon to expire, i have loads of emails in the usual .pst format. What can i use with these to get email?

Thunderbird wont import .pst, windows live mail wont import .pst, i can use something else for mail but short of buying outlook im stuffed if i want to keep the backed up emails? Is that the case?

Can you not just export to other format? Could do so with 2007

I dont know if you can i cant see an export option in 2010.

Dont know whether this works or not.

Cant believe Thunderbird doesnt support PST out of the box though! Bit of a poor show.

You can export to CSV or TSV format. File / Options / Advanced / Export

Windows Live mail nor thunderbird let you choose a file they just look for a default mail program, its toltal rubbish, what are people here using for email?
