I have a Hosted Exchange account which I use in Outlook 2007 and I currently use Window Live Mail for my Hotmail account. Does anyone or has anyone configured Outlook with both and Exchange account and Hotmail account in the same profile??

Thanks

i dont have an exchange account but i cant see any reason you cant just add another email account to outlook.

Well, given that you don't have an exchange account, you can be forgiven for not understanding the difference in how mail is delivered to an exchange mailbox.

It's not crap, but in fairness it isn't a situation that should crop up (a corporate machine needing email from their exchange server AND something crap like hotmail).

Pretty sure you can't run an exchange account and an HTML/POP/IMAP account at the same time.
You can definitely have a POP account as either dumping new mail into your exchange mailbox or into separate personal folders.

You could also have an IMAP and HTML account, but it would certainly appear as a separate folder tree.

^are you absolutely sure though? i know last time i had my own email account on an exchange server (some 10 years ago - must have been version 5 i think :D), i had loads of pop3 accounts setup in outlook98 delivered into my exchange mailbox. can't see why newer versions would be any different? :)

obviously you'd not want to fall foul of your IT policy at work so it might not be a good idea to store external email on their server but it certainly was possible.

Outlook does not stop me adding Exchange + Any other mail delivery transport into the same profile.

Would suggest creating a new pst and using a Rule to move the desiered POP/HTML/Whatever mail to it though, unless your not bothered about delivering it to your Exchange database.

Will have to Manually select the account to send mails with also to have it appear from your non-Exchange address.

I had installed the Windows Live Outlook Connector and it seems to keep everything seperate just fine.
Looks like I had the answer all along already installed.
