Right this may take a while to explain.

I have just built new pc. I have put my old hard disk from old pc in as a slave drive. Now I want to get some of the emails that were in my inbox from the old outlook express. But even if i open the outlook version which is on the old hard disk it only opens the current outlook with *** current inbox. Is there anywhere were I can find the old emails or a way of opening the old outlook express without it just showing the new messages. Or am I going to have to remove it stick it in the old pc get the emails then put it back. I'm just lazy. Didn't want to bother if I can get them without doing that.

Your old Outlook Express emails should be in a folder on the old hard drive.

In the new Outlook Express click File>Import>messages then Microsoft Outlook Express6. Then choose Import messages from an OE6 identity. You will then be asked where to look for the messages.

Look in - ?:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express where ? is the drive letter of your old drive and {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} is a number based on your old system. Select the folders you wish to import.

The messages should be imported a few screens later.

Thnx. Now have the problem that access is denied to that folder :(. Good to know how to do that. Think i'll just have to swap the drives over.
