Outlook 2007 (POS), just used it for the first time

So I install Outlook (2007) for the first time ever, thought it would be nice to be constantly on top of my emails. First of all, I hate the layout. It doesnt look user firendly in the slightest, I mean I can navigate it fine, it just looks like your standard Microsoft mess. I'm not a robot, give me a nicer looking experience M$.

More to the point, I set it up not really knowing anything about it, the only way to find out is to try though right? A lot of the time I check my emails when I'm away from home, that means through a browser. I have a great fondness for Streamlines in browser experience. I often need to check through old emails on the move, for information etc. So I was livid when I discovered Outlook deletes mail from the server and only stores it locally. Maybe I should have known this, but like I said im completeley new to Outlook (been on windows for about 7 years). So I can no longer see any of the emails through a browser that I have ever recieved, and I need to.

1) Is there any way I can stop Outlook from deleting mail from the server so I can check my mail away from home? If not, good bye Outlook you mail whore.

2) Is there any way I can put all my mail back onto the server, so I can check back on them away from home?

Thanks, maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I'd really appreciate your help.

Yeah sorry I just typed express without thinking. I'l give Thunderbird a look, I'm having to go through all my important emails here and "resend" them, it was going fine untill about 10 emails in, it's actually started to crash or hang trying to send an email. I hate this program more and more every minute I spend with it.

Thanks Zap, I guess question 1 is irrelevant now, I'm never touching Outlook again.

Does Outlook delete really old messages? I can't find a few emails from like over a year ago, and I need the info within. My god this is dirving me mad.
