I sent an email this morning and thought it strange that my spellcheck was saying common words like what, days, holiday were wrong. I noticed my default language in options tab within Outlook Express is set to French for some reason. When I click on edit box at the side to change it I don't get any options just a pop up box saying changes made next time or something similar.

All my other default laguages for keyboard etc seem to set as English UK, any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Andy.

To change the language you need to go Tools -> Options -> Spelling -> Language -> Select English (United Kingdom) from the drop down list.
The edit button lets you edit the dictionary which you don't want to do.

I'm not entirely sure what you are saying in your post or wanting to do but that should change the language back to English.

Thats what I'm trying to do. I don't get a drop down list giving me any options.

It always was on English ubtil today I noticed it giving strange things on simple words.

Have you got office installed and if so has word had it's default language changed by any chance as it might effect OE's spell chack.

Yes I've got Office 2007 installed, default comes up as English (UK). After a quick google search its another M$ bug when using Office 2007 but still using OE rather than Outlook within Office 2007. I've had to download a freeware English US spellcheck program as it looks like M$ have no fix for it.

Good one Bill Gates !!!!!

Update - just downloaded and installed ABCspell which gives you English UK, this is a trial so need to pay for it to fix it permanantly.
