Good morning all, after sticking it out with Windows XP through thick & thin, I've now come to the conclusion I need to move to Win7 64bit

I have installed Win7 previously however because of not being able to backup all of my current Outlook Emails I've always gone back to Win XP Pro 32bit with XP I use an app called InAchis which was freely available some time back, however this only allows me to backup from O/E to O/E & not to MS outlook 2000 or 2007 of which I have both versions available.

If possible & better still free of charge :D I'd like to do this with software rather me fiddling about with pst or whatever files.

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers now hondo :)

Thanks for the reply, but that won't help I'm afraid that I feel I need a third software because when I install Win 7 the Hdd will be devoid of Oulook @ least until I've got Win 7 back on there.

I dunno but I think I need to compress the current addresses / sent / received email & IE Favs if possible into just one file, that I can then burn to either CD / DVD I can do this using InAchis however it won't do this with just "Outlook"

I mind reading a post similar to this and the person used Thunderbird to import the mail from outlook express, then used the Thunderbird redirect extension to send all the mail to a gmail account.

Mmm thanks very much for you feedback , thats not a bad idea that, could be well worth a try.

Although TBH on a long term basis I'm not too keen on using Thunderbird for keeps, can't put my finger on exactly why, however, the GUI does very little for me.

Is there anyone out there currently using the FOC version of IncrediMail in Win7?

Any opinions would be great.

Thanks again & cheers hondo :)

Easiest way to get emails from express to outlook is drag and drop them, i think. I have had to do it a few times and if i remember correctly you can drag emails from express to outlook but not the other way.

I think i remember what i did now, you have to drag and drop the emails in windows explorer then use a software to convert the eml to msg and then you can drag and drop them in to outlook

Thanks very much I’ve already managed now to get the emails into Outlook, I’m just trying to figure out now how to backup & any likely method of a (no problem) retrieval method once Win7 is on the PC, although in one way it not a Mega problem, being a big believer in the KISS Principle using Acronis I intend before I start to expire XP to create an image of the current Hdd, so at least I can recover the whole lot back to XP which will include emails, I’ve borrowed my Bro’s external Hdd so hopefully storage to DVD is no longer a problem.
Do you know if the Backup facility within Win XP is compatible with the same in Win7? If it is I’m in the mind to backup MSO 07 complete & restore the lot when Win 7 is installed.

Thanks again, Drag & Drop which I've now since tried & it works, fits in extremely well with the KISS Principle
