Outlook express to outlook 2007

we've had outlook express on our old pc with xp for a while and ive just built a new pc with vista on it, our problem is this:

is it possible to transfer the address book and contacts from the old pc to the new one? we've tried getting the files fro the old pc but there nothing we can do with them on the new one.

Any ideas?

cant you just export the address book from one and import to the other?
or does outlook 07 use a different file type?

i though that but it didnt seem to work, when i tried it, it didnt give me thge option to choose where to import from.
