I put my display name email then put my email as my account name and password as my hotmail password it says successfull then comes back with the error above?

Could not connect to Hotmail as %s.

Hotmail no longer allows email access via Outlook Express for free email accounts.

Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Access to Hotmail via Outlook and Outlook Express now requires a subscription. Please sign up at http://join.msn.com/general/Email', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCF6

That is what is comes up with? am i doing something wrong guys? i have never used outlook express because i always get that message?

Don't use Outlook Express to send emails via Hotmail. Your account doesn't allow it.
The error message clearly says why it can't be sent.

Use the web based Hotmail to send your message.
Login to your Hotmail account here - http://www.hotmail.co.uk and then send the message.

Windows Live Mail will allow you to receive and send emails from it with free hotmail accounts. It's a part of the live messenger bundle. Personally, I just wish they'd let outlook do it.

If you have Microsoft Office Outlook, then you can download the connector and use your Hotmail account with Outlook all the time. On the odd occasion if the server is busy you have to retry several times, but these are few and far between.
