Hope this makes sense....

For years I used outlook express and had seperate identites to keep my main account apart from my gmail stuff.

Now with W7 I use outlook and I like it but I'm using Gmail and hate web based email.

Is there anyway to have seperate folders in outlook for my bt account and gmail stuff?

I basically don't want it all muddled in together and want different inboxes etc.

Any guides for this?

Cheers :)

Done that method but it will send from the gmail account but testing it I can't recieve mail (within outlook) I get a synchronisation error.

Any ideas?

go in to advanced options in your email settings and make sure you have put the incoming imap server to 993 using SSL connection

outgoing should be 465

and make sure your incoming mail server is: imap.gmail.com

It might be worth having a look at this http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=77689

Also are you using Kaspersky 2011 per chance? I had similar issues with sync. Turned KIS anti spam off and they went away.

Nah I don't use KIS :)

Yeah checked still won't sync incoming mail, worth trying the pop route?

have you put IMAP ON in your google settings

log in via the web page and go to settings and make sure its on

if it pop and imap are switched on and its still not working , delete the account from outlook and set it up again from scratch.

That's why I didn't suggest IMAP. Nothing but trouble in Outlook.

Ive used it on many many different computers in outlook without a problem (with lots of different email accounts)
