Hopefully this is a simple one for someone but I just dont seem to beable to crack it!!

We are running a very basic network on server 2003(not small business) and are not currently using exchange server 2003. Each local computer has outlook installed, with a pop3 account, on it and the outlook data file points to a mapped drive on the server (N:\Outlookfiles\Joebloggs\outlook.pst) This method works great for us as it backs up the data files when we backup the server.

However, we have had to upgrade one of the local machines and when I have tried to point the data files to the server it just doesnt work!! A friend of mine set the network up but I cant get in touch with him to ask how I should go about trying to get it to work so any help would be really appreciated.

Can that machine actually see the server in question and the file?

Account name hasnt changed at all, and therefore Outlook thinks its trying to open someone else's pst?

select e-mail accounts from tools click nxt in the email accounts, on the email accounts page click new outlook data file .pst should be selected by default click ok this displayes creae or open data file it should open the dialog box search for an existing file look at the map drive select the pst file you want.
remember about the permissions on the folder that hosts the pst file.
