Hello,

I have a laptop and a pc i both want to use the same 10 email addresses in outlook. i want it so if i open my pc inbox all emails are there and if i open my 1 on my laptop all emails are there.

i know i could get a server and install exchange. but i dont really want the hassle of another pc with SBS2003 or nothing like that.

what i wanted to know before trying it is. outlook asks for a store location for your email. if i had that folder shared on my network ( only 2 port network so no need to worry about hackers ( plus firewalled to the top on the net) could if i opened outlook on my pc and laptop be able to see both emails? btw i only open 1 at a time never use them both at once?

I hope you get what i mean.

2 computers 2 outlooks but both looking at 1 folder for there inbox (well all there mail boxes but you know what i mean)

yup that would work. outlook stores all data in a .pst file and that is locked to one user at a time but you've already explained that isn't a problem.... :)

just create a profile in outlook manually specifying the data file first (eg your outlook.pst on a network share).

DUnno why i posted tbh. i just tried it and it works fine :)

thanks for the quick reply. gives a error or to but thats because the other outlook is open on my laptop.

Thanks
