I have an outlook email account and always like to check my sign in activity as it's good peace of mind.

On my android phone there is an app where i can log into my email account using imap/pop settings.
This app is a generic app which came with the phone. should i use this, will my login activity show
through onto my login activity with the original outlook account?

I could install the outlook app, but due to having loads of apps already on the phone its just less clutter.

I’d expect the activity to show the login with your account, yes. It may not show every time the email account is polled though as that may end up being dozens of times a day.

I've not used Android Mail but I expect it to be basic. So you may loose some functionality.

Outlook is pretty good and configurable but, either way, both should show sign in logs.

I'd assume this is the Gmail app - which I'm almost 100% will show the activity. But the outlook app is worth a look, given the extra functionality that it offers.

I did this very same thing just recently after seeing the other thread about attempted logins. I used to just swipe between accounts on gmail to get to an old hotmail account (think I must have created it sometime around 1996).

I followed one of the suggested steps to disable the feature gmail uses, and just stuck the outlook app on. Only annoyance I have is the "ad" on the mailbox but just a minor thing.
