Hi all
I wasn't sure if this was better in here or the server forum but here we go. I have an issue with my new server build which is Server 2003 R2 SP2 x64 running Terminal Services and XenApp.
I have installed Office 2003 (It is what we use and no I cant upgrade it) and my problem lies in the "right click - send to mail recipient" option. It merely doesn't do anything. I am aware of two registry locations for setting default clients which are:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail
and on an x64 machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Clients\Mail
Only the Wow6432Node branch has the Microsoft Outlook entry for the mail client so you would think the answer to my question is to create the same under the other branch but this has not worked for me. I have tried various other suggestions such as repairing or reinstalling Office and this hasn't solved anything either.
Trying to understand why its not working I can only think that Windows Explorer is an x64 process and Office is x86 and the problem is there somewhere but that is really just me clutching at straws.
Hoping someone out there has experienced the same and can advise. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Might be worth noting that I am aware you can set default programs from within Internet Explorer however our Group Policy prohibits users from accessing "Tools - Internet Options" so this is something I need to be able to set at Group Policy level, or machine level via the registry.
