Outlook simple one

Yep, am using exchange. Do I have to change their password? Im sure it could be set without changing their password and logging in as them

Dont think you can do it without logging in to their account even from Exchange Tools ... so you'll have to reset their password and do it. Just pretend their password expired whilst they were on holiday :-P

Problem is he is not really on holiday and would not know his new password to be able to log in if i change it

You have to delegate yourself full rights for their mailbox, then profile their account in your Outlook and you can set their out of office without changing their password.

thanks, how do you profile an account in outlook? I go to open inbox and can do that but then dont know how to set out of office.

In exchange advanced > mailbox rights I am a domain admin with all boxes ticked but there is a tick box in deny for full mainbox access

Open Control Panel, locate Mail icon, double click it, click Show Profiles button, click Add button, then follow the wizard to create the user profile.
Launch Outlook, select the users profile when prompted and then set their out of office by going through the Out Of Office Assistant under the Tools menu.

Don't add it as an additional mailbox within your profile. Create a new profile using their mailbox details. You'll be able to set the OOO from the Tools menu at that point.

S.

Edit: Beaten to it :)
