I know OC may not be the best place for this but its worth asking :)

We are having a problem with outlook (via exchange) whilst on a VPN, the problem is that we can send emails out but cannot recieve them - even when you do a send/recieve.

I've tried doing all the obvious things, such as removing/readding the vpn connection and unchecking the 'use default gateway' under tcp/ip settings on vpn properties but have had no luck so far.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, i have had to set up web access for the particular user for now as they frequently need access via vpn, and obviously having to exit the vpn to sync up emails then go back on is becoming a bit of an issue .

Have you got RPC or Outlook Anywhere configured?

EDIT: A few questions:
What type of VPN is it?
What versions of outlook/exchange are you using?
What network is the Exchange server on (LAN or VPN side)?

Yes outlook anywhere is configured, and i've checked it to make sure its correct and using the right auth.

VPN is PPTP using default windows vpn client
Outlook 2010
Exchange 2007 (08.01.0436.000)

Oh and the server is vpn side.

The weird thing is it just seems to be this machine, no ones else if having this issue?

When connected to the VPN, if you ping the address of your mail servers do you still get the right IP?

Perhaps the DNS of the VPN is taking over and routing the mail address to the wrong IP.
