I'm off on holiday soon and wondered if there is a way to output a video and sound signal from my Huawei M5 via some sort of cable to a TV?

Is it literally as simple as getting a USB-C to HDMI cable and hey-presto, the tablet's screen will be duplicated on the TV??

What about a chep google chromecast in the TV via HDMI, then casting your screen/miracast/one of the others?

Thanks for the replies but my understanding is that for a Chromecast to work it needs to be connected to a WiFi network - I'm wanting to just reproduce my tablet screen (predominantly films) onto a TV that doesn't have any network capabilities.

Basically the place we are going doesn't have any WiFi so I'd prefer a cable solution.

The Huawei M5 has a usb 2.0 limit on its port so a usb c to hdmi cable won't work it needs usb 3, its a hardware limitation im afraid.

The only way would be to as above use a WiFi alternative. Maybe hotspotting from your phones network?

Or you could just use your phone (depending on model) if its somewhat recent it would work with the cable.

Or the old download what you want onto a USB drive/hard drive and plug directly into the TV.
