Just installing this bad boy now, and wondering if anyone else plays it still.

Says you can have up to 6 people race online so it would be fun to have a few games with people from here.

There aren't any servers for it anymore - they were closed down a while back now :(

Do you think hamachi would work?

If there's enough interest, might as well have a go to see if it works.

And it is a fantastic game, had a go at the arcades with some mates last week, and dug up my old copy because it was so good!

Great game (if you're an Outrun fan). But any racing game with a keyboard - why?

Indeed.

I have no problem with keyboard controls and this is with the sensitivity to it's maximum as well.

As above though, it is a shame Sega removed the servers for online play due to not many players using it (Was the same for Sega Rally Revo as well).

Most people would have moved over the the OutRun Online Arcade edition for the 360 and PS3 by now, though it lacks the extra game modes that the previous home versions have.

I've heard of Hamachi but never really used it, so if this game does work with it, then hopefully I could try and join in. I still play this game regulary on my PC.

Oh and "Shiny World" = my most favourite song for OutRun 2.

I played through all of Dirt 2 with a keyboard.......found it far easier than my 360 joypad TBH...

Far more precise with just simple 1'tap' movements going through corners and straight line adjustments......

Never tried a steering wheel though, i would find it just too much hassle setting one up on my desk, with all the clamps and wires, then having to put it all away again afterwards TBH...:D

Awesome, you guys up for trying it out around 9pm or earlier?

We'd all need to download hamachi and go on from there.

Just downloaded Hamachi and need to get to grips with it.

If there are anymore others, I wouldn't mind tonight or any other free time.

Once you start hamachi, you can either join or create a network.

I'm thinking that the network will be called Outrun 2, and the password is ocuk.

Once you've joined the network, you just need to go into the game, select multiplayer and choose lan mode, and hopefully we should be in the same room.

The original 3 tracks (Magical Sound Shower, Passing Breeze and Splash Wave), alongside Space Harrier, rank as my all time favourite arcade soundtracks.

Not sure about the PC ver, but the old PS2 ver allowed you to unlock the 'original' 80's versions of these fantastic Outrun titles. They came with the revamped versions until you were able to unlock..

One of the best redone retro games out there is Outrun !

It's the same across all versions.

Indeed, and there is also After Burner Climax and Planet Harriers which were very good 3D graphics updates. Sega just needs to do a modern Hang-On (Seriously, WTF!) and pretty much the classic games are complete.

Hmmmm I gotta say, this is going to be harder than it looks.

Just tried to faff about for the past hour or so to get a game going but nothing is working.

Don't know if there needs to be a particular version of Hamachi to get it working, or do some router tweaking, or whatever.

Googling around for information, I can see that this game can work with Hamachi, the only problem is, HOW!!!!??? GRRR! It's supposed to be easy, but in this situation, it doesn't want to be.

Might as well just get the Arcade Online version, though for myself, 1 am on the PS3.

Yeah, it was supposed to be so easy, but its a head scratcher :(

I've got a PS3 too, i'll see how much it is on the store.

Really want to get this to work though.
