hi all, just moved into my new place :D - but slight problem in so far as the aerial which comes in from outside (through small hole in the wall) doesn't seem to allow me to pick up any channels on my flatscreen tv (which has a built in freeview). So i'm guessing the aerial is knackered. How would i go about sorting this problem out?

i've just ordered virgin internet and was considering ordering one of the tv packages as well. If i were to do this would i need a properly functioning aerial already installed or would the engineer do it all and put new stuff in?

thanks

Virgin is cable so they would dig up the garden/drive/whatever is needed to run a cable into your flat that carries TV and Internet.

This is what I did in my last place as the TV aerial was rubbish so just had Virgin installed!

Other than that it's asking the building owners/letting agents if they can come and sort the aerial out.

My house suffers a similar problem. It is part of a development where there is a block of flats so our satellite & aerial installation is communal. Our satellite setup is 100%, perfect signal etc. but the aerial gives you nothing. Not a sausage (analogue to digital). Unfortunately as it isn't my aerial and the access is limited I can't do anything, despite hassling to management company.

ah well, i've upgraded my virgin order to include the 'L' tv package so that's gonna take care of everything. Just got to wait eight more days :)

oh yeah - my original install date from when i ordered on the internet was the 12th, but phoned up yesterday to add the tv and asked for the earliest possible install date and was told the 7th. Result!
