Hope anyone can help i have had this issue for some time.
First the problem:
Sometimes when i have had to restart my pc i have noticed my frame rate hits rock bottom, and also i have noticed a lot of other things are sluggish. Ram seems slow, HDD transfer rates are slower, basically everything is slower. It normally takes turning off the PC, turning off the PSU and draining the power (Press the power till it beeps a few times) leave it for about 1hour and turn it all on again and then everythign is fine.
Everythign will stay fine untill either, PC crashes or auto update restarts it. I usually get 3-4days out of the machine until i have to repeat the cycle.
Now. The interesting thing, someone on the nvidia forums was complaining of low fps aswell, he also mentioned after looking at the Nvidia contorl panel it showed his PCI-E being only x1.
I decided to take a look. when my pc is running on low FPS sure enough my PCI-E is showing as x1. Today i have turned it on after being left off overnight and everything is fine and my PCI-E shows as x16
I first thought it was my PSU as it is one of the only items in the machine that was not originally replaced before Vadim went bust. Either the power is not supplying properly, i have a dodgy rail or something. But now i am pen to suggestions, I would liek to narrow it down as best i can as i dont want to pay out for a PSU i cant afford if it is not goign to fix it.
Any ideas anyone?
