We were going to do something similar, but the drawer unit took up so much of the space. Our filler was only about 150mm high from memory, if that.
In the end, I fitted some hinges so it was essentially a flap that dropped down. Useful space for baking trays, pudding trays etc.
Personally, we went for the un-sprung.
There is enough friction to keep the flap shut, and you could always fit a small magnet to keep it closed, which was my plan. In the end, it did not need it.
The sprung ones really need a bigger door for leverage. They are evil !!
If I remember when I get home, I will take you a picture if it helps.
I had a double oven and originally intended to buy a 10cm filler but then realised IKEA do 10cm drawers. Went in no problem. Unfortunately a week later the oven blew up so I went with a separate single oven and integrated microwave which meant I had to remove the 10cm drawer to make space
That's what we looked at, as we have some other Ikea units with drawers which are great.
We just felt the space taken up by the actual draw, would make it less usable. YMMV
I could not get my muffin/Yorkshire pud tins in the drawer, but they fit in the space nicely now.
