Couple of questions

Are ovens standard sizes?

The one we have is an under the counter thing with blanking plate underneath

When you buy one from a chain retailer like the ones on retail parks can you take them away there and then or are they ordered?

I suspect I could get one in the Clio with the seats down I'd I hate waiting for retailers to deliver

Any recomendations? I want an inxpensive one with a timer

Its electric btw

Installing fixed electrical equipment in a kitchen is notifiable to your local council btw (under part P of the building regs)

(nah, I wouldn't bother telling them either... ;) )

yeah I sell them a single oven is supposdely 600x600 but its usually more like 595 just to give you that extra room.

doubles are 600x900, but again they have that little manouvering room.

I work in a little company that sells them and although we do deliver, we've got them and other things like washing machines into almost every kind of car.

I have a clio (an old one though) and pretty much everything will go in with the back seats down.

EDIT: whereabouts are you? If your in Manchester I would say go to where I work, its really cheap and we're all absolute experts on the stuff we sell (ahem) check out the site, done in the quickest time ever of about 40 seconds.

Thanks guys

I took a tape measure with me to a store in the end, it seems to be pretty standard that the back (thats the bit I'm interested in) is ~560mm so that it fits in the recess I have, we have the clearence in the front to have one with a 600mm wide face but the back must fit into a 560mm hole if that makes sense?
