Hi Guys,

I am going to put in an order for;

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-306-OE&groupid=43&catid=2385&subcat=1444

I just want to ask a few questions because you guys know better than me.

1. Is this a good system / will it be good for a few years? I will be using this system for gaming mostly.
2. Money not a massive issue, so is upgrading to a 8 core CPU or the 7970 GFX worth it? More than happy to spend a bit extra to get a bit extra performance?
3. any other upgrades / changes I should make?
4. is it OK-ish value for money ?

Cheers :D :D

TBH mate if the money isn't your concern then get an I5 3570k or if you want a longer lifespan an i7 3770k.

Its not a crap system but the intel stuff still wins out at the moment.

7970 will max everything on a single 1080p monitor at the mo, the price gap to Nvidia just puts them out of contention IMHO

Also if your up to the challenge build it your self, it makes you feel like a king knowing you put it all together and the guys and galls here will tell you what to buy if your worried about getting the wrong thing. (not for everyone but its easier than you may think)

Nooo, don't get an AMD Pileofcrap FX-6 based rig. Some AMD rigs are sound choices, but not that one. You can get much more for your money.

Are you not interested in building your own rig? Typically you get much more performance for your money. If not then I'll happily suggest other pre-builts such as the below.

YOUR BASKET
1 x "Titan 8700i Pulse" Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Ivybridge System £526.00
- 1 x HIS HD 7970 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H797F3G2M) with FREE FARCRY3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs & 20% off MOH Warfighter PC Games £335.99
- 1 x Opt Out of FREE AV Software £0.01
- 1 x No Sound Card Upgrade £0.00
- 1 x Networking Not Selected £0.00
- 1 x Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00403) **FREE SHIPPING** £79.99
- 1 x No Hard Drive Upgrade £0.00
Total : £941.99 (includes shipping : FREE).

Cheers yes, please suggest away! If there's a better system to be had I am well up for ordering it. I wouldn't say money is no issue but I'm happy to pay a bit more to get a quality system. I had no idea the AMD was a bit pants! :)

I can't really build my own sadly, never done it before and I'm sure i'd muck something up !! Ha!

Well if you must, go for a pre-built like something I suggested above in my initial post.

However you would get so much more performance for your money if you built your own. It is incredibly easy! If you can get legos together, then you can put a PC together. :D
