Hi folks
just received some replacement parts from OCUK (amazing service as always - thanks OCUK) so I can swap out some things from a rather over sized case to a CM 690 case and tuck it under my desk, but having not used the other spare for a while I know I would lose the OC profile installed on there when I place it in the CM 690 case with the new mobo. Here's what I have for this move:
Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard (apparently this will allow me to use/setup my twin 3tb hdd's in a raid array now)
16gb Samsung Green DDR3 PC3-12800C11 memory
Antec Kuhler H20 920 CPU cooler
The cpu I'll be using - from the over sized case is an Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4ghz LGA1155 cpu
I think the old setup has an OC profile where it runs at around 4.4 to 4.6ghz, but for now I can live with the base 3.4ghz setting. What I would very much appreciate is an idea of what settings I can put in place to maybe up it to say a stable setting of around 4ghz or maybe just above that. I have never personally oc'd anything before but I guess it can be done in the bios.
If anyone with experience in this sort of thing help me I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not too worried about fiddling with the memory setup (I've been told this memory runs pretty nicely with no changes at all) but I'm willing to listen to suggestions for that too
Thanks in advance!
Peace out!
NOTE* if I can get an oc profile setup - not sure how I would actually do this and save it in the bios yet - does it mean the oc profile is used all the time or only when the system needs it?
