You are looking at around 4GHz with the stock cooler supplied with the CPU.

Add a £25-£35 heatsink and you are aiming at 4.5Ghz or more.

i dont put it as its hard to say tbf its a general use but i game, build websites, spreadsheets, photo editing use as a server everything really hence lots off processing and ram =]

You said what its for in the other thread.

I did query why you had 16GB if you remember.

yes ive changed it a little since then hence the new thread lowered graphics and pumped a bit more cash in to it dose it matter if the processor is ivybridge or sandybridge when it comes to comparable with mb? or is it just the chipset its running?

Doesn't really matter which CPU you get, but Ivybridge is around 10%-15% faster clock for clock than Sandybridge.

You have selected a Z77 board so can take either, with some Z68 boards you need to check if it supports Ivybridge and what BIOS revision is needed for this.

Your system is balanced.

It wasn't me saying it wasn't.

To be honest just stick with the motherboard you have selected.

But remember that modular PSU I linked to, it will make life easier when keeping the inside of the case tidy.

Well if you are going to buy a few fans for the case (say costing £20), then consider getting a more expensive case that has more than one fan fitted as standard.

Remember you can always plug the fans into the motherboard system_fan headers.

is the final spec then looking good?

It is.

Case/system fans usually are three pin to go into the motherboard direct or 4pin molex to connect direct to the PSU.

Some fans are also both, so you can pick how you want to connect them.
