Well you finally get bored oc your pc.so what do you do next?you get a rat and overclock him to the hilt:D:D.Before you start thinking im crazy watch the new bbc visions of the future program on bbc4.truly astounding program with glimpses of technology of the future being used in humans brains.
they have tried it in rats already,by inserting a processor in its brain and upping it to 50 percent better than normal.had to laugh thinking of future postings on here like my rats topped out :D:D the serious side though it is thought that by the late 2020s almost all will have some kind of improvement fitted to help with our brains.makes upgraded a little more serious in the future doesnt it.

Theres not enough room in my brain to fit a better heatsink.

And the whole by 2020 we will all be improving something on ourselves is rubbish IMO. Maybe closer to 2120. Since medical testing can take years . . .

theyve fitted certain electro devices already to humans brains.one of the people on the program had the brain surgery and the effects were quite remarkable.they reckon will will have ram chips in brain and lots of other items.really have to watch the show.

We used to give our rats ribenna, makes them go nuts!

The third part of that article reads like an outline of star trek technology

Can is different to will, tech may be there in the future but will research be allowed or will the beard stroking philosophers and moral guardians prevent the tech, like stem cell research is limited now.

Odd, I'd hate to have a CPU in my brain, imagine if everyone had a CPU in there brain and people started overclocking them, could be a couple of failures!!

In that link I find thios bit interesting:

3. THE QUANTUM REVOLUTION
Friday 1 February 1.10am-2.10am (Thursday night)
The quantum revolution could turn many ideas of science fiction into science fact - from metamaterials with mind-boggling properties like invisibility through limitless quantum energy and room temperature superconductors to Arthur C Clarke's space elevator. Some scientists even forecast that in the latter half of the century everybody will have a personal fabricator that re-arranges molecules to produce everything from almost anything. Yet how will we ultimately use our mastery of matter? Like Samson, will we use our strength to bring down the temple? Or, like Solomon, will we have the wisdom to match our technology?

So basically this century we could be close to been in Star Trek time for real, with replicators and stuff like that :D.
