I've got the chance of two 690s and I want to go for it (2 x PCs to keep family apart). However, I would (just the once) like to put them in one machine to "have a play". Can I overclock both in the same PC with the usual EVGA Precision or AB software or can it only be done on a single 690.

Thanx

PS
I do have a RIVE mbd as well.

Thanx for replies.

The other ppl play at whatever res suits them with their own monitors. I don't interfere .

I just wanted to have a play when they were out :D.

Kaapstad is your man with overclocking 690's. Like Monkeyspaz says, make sure your PSU is up to the task. If not, grab another out of another machine and use that for one of them :)

Thanx for that.

Forgot about the PSU but I shouldn't be worried with a Corsair AX1200 (100amps on the 12v rail).....or is that a fatal noob comment :D?

I use a Corsair AX1200 which is fine

The settings I use are

GPUs 2 x GTX 690 @ 1023mhz mem 7004mhz boost 1127mhz

If you monitor them in GPUz when running they actually boost a lot higher

If you run 3dmark11 it will show them off to best effect but you will also have to oc the CPU as well

If you run Heaven 3.0 benchmark the results will be poor (the benchmark does not favour multi GPU nvidia setups)

As they say on Blue Peter "Heres one I did earlier"

What's that in GPU and MEM clock offset values mate?

I'm using +100 GPU and +500 MEM clock at the moment, no idea what that actually translates to in the real world but I don't seem to get any artifacts at those settings.

Im at work at the moment but if I remember right GPU stock is 915mhz so im using +108 and memory I think your using the same as me.

The figures I quoted earlier are the ones in the 3 boxes at the bottom of GPUz when overclocked.

Edit just checked the mem figure at stock in GPUz it reads 1502 x 4 = 6008mhz
When I overclock it reads 1751 x 4 = 7004mhz

On the tab where GPUz shows temps etc it will show the gpus boosting up to between 1158 - 1171mhz depending on which gpus it is. If you look on the thread for memory usage in BF3 there is a screen shot of my gpus running at stock showing the difference in boost speeds. This is normal for sli.

Heres a run I did in 3Dmark11 extreme preset this morning

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4405037

I have done better but 3Dmark11 did not go much on the drivers I was using then.

In the link below is a review of 4 x GTX680 quad sli and also 4 x HD7970s in crossfire if you compare the run I have just done above with the review below you can see the drivers or something has improved a lot for quad sli :D

Excellent replies. Good values to reference to as well :).

Thanx guys (thumbs up smilie?).

I'm good to go..........Hope I don't get a maximum smoke record  :D.

@Kaapstad, one question left..........are you using a RIVE mbd or something different?

Thanx

OOPS! Just checked your 3dMark11 page.........a RIVE it is.
