Before I upgrade to an AM2 system can anyone give me some help on overclocking my old AMD 64 3000+ Winchester cpu on an ECS KV2 Lite mobo with 1Gb ram and an FX 5500. I have overclocked to 2005Mhz previously with Fuzzy Overclocking (supplied with the mobo) but really couldn't see any speed benefit using Win XP. In fact it sometimes seemed to slow down so I stopped using it. Would appreciate any input. The following is a snapshot from CrystalCPUID:

I would stick the ram on a divider so it didn't run any faster than 200MHz which rules out the ram holding you back.

Then ramp up the HTT, decrease the HT multiplier by 1 to make sure it doesn't go higher than 1000MHz and prime from time to time to ensure things are stable.

If it turns out to be unstable, you can either stop or increase the voltage to the cpu. Try not to exceed 1.5v on air, keep an eye on your temperatures.

Got my venice 3000 to 2.7GHz, 1.45v :)
