i am just clocking my new system with everything at stock other than winding up the cpu frequency
it seems stable at 219 *11 2400 4000 speeds
it seems stable at 237*11 2600 fx 55 speeds for the money
above 242 it crashes
any tips for going further or is that it
mobo is asrock 939 dual sat 2
cheers

Set the HTT multi to 3x, to do this go to the chipset options and change the CPU-NB Link Speed to 600mhz.

Then try increasing the volts and increase the fsb again.
Put the ram on a divider to stop this limiting the overclock

using 2 * 512 mb kingston ram , in dual channel ,set at 200 ddr , running asynch and everything else is on auto
new system so i dont want to fry it yet, just take it to max and back off a bit
can anyone move this to the 3700 overclocking thread , i never seen it earlier

no need to move it

so let me get this straight - your ram is at 200 yeah? - and your htt is 240 - what about your htt multiplyer ( normally 5x on 939 isnt it?) - what have you got that set to?

Auto is 5X. You don't want your HT speed to go over 1GHz really - it's amazing that you've managed to get it as high as you have

Set it to 600MHz (or 3X).

When the ram is set to 200MHz it increases with the CPU HTT speed. Your ram is running at 237MHz when your CPU is running at 237MHz HTT.

Set your ram to 166Mhz

You can see your current memory speed using CPU-Z

yeah - you need to keep it under or as close to 1ghz as you can - think thast whats causing your problem

as you say at sock its 200*5=1000 - but youve got yours set to 240*5 = 1200 - no wonder it falls over lol

2.7ghz on my 3700.

Htt x 4, 11multi x 245fsb - all stock volts including ram - haven't tried pushing futher yet due to time issues etc.

Bloody happy with 2.7 mind u!!! :p
