This is on my - Gigabyte 1Gig 460

Just want to know what sort of Afterburner settings I can use safely for a 460 card. Is the above ok or should I be looking at changing any settings?

Been running 850/2000 since just after christmas and not had any problems, be aware though that MSI Kombustor doesn't stress tessellation so the overclock may seem stable in DX9 and DX10, but some DX11 games/benches will crash unless they updated the application.

I have a reference Inno3D card but it's the 768MB version but on stock volts card idles at mid 20 celcius, and tops out at 60 celcius max.

Run these clocks 24/7, but the card at idle underclocks as far as I can tell and only goes up to the higher clocks for 3D applications/games.

The best way to check safe temps, imo, is to run OCCT with your overclock and see at what temperature it starts to produce errors. I think if you can safely run enough below this temp with a fanspeed acceptable to you, then you're fine, games and other apps won't reach temps as high as OCCT.

Hey, does Afterburner allow you to set a nonlinear curve for fanspeed? I'm using Asus smart doctor's Smartcooling at the mo. It's annoying when the jump from 40% to 55% and then to 69% is a big difference in sound.

If it was more gradual hitting 55% at 42C and 84% at 52 while gradually ramping up in between that would be better.

What's the max safe temp that the 460 card can handle? I'm worried about card temps or I'd bump the volts up a bit more.

Southeast....you running that card as your 24/7 setup? What brand have you got?

not 100% sure for the 1GB one, but the maximum reccommended temperature for my 768MB one is 104C, which is WAY higher than i expected

Mine peaks it around 52C on games and Heaven. OCCT is a differnet story.

Btw MSI afterburner fan curve did turn out better than ASUS SmartDoctor. Was hoping for a smoother curve, but at least it lets me add several points, and also lets me add hysteresis which is BRILLIANT! I've been looking high and low for a fan controller with hyst.

Been overclocking mine for last few days too. got 875/ 1750 /2000 at 1050mv.

Temp idles at 50C, peaks at about 90-98ish. But thats with stock (aluminium heatsink) and a 82mm fan on it. Got new cooler coming soon so gna try get 900+ out of this beast. then buy another, and get GTX 460 Overclocked SLI :D
