Relatively new to this kind of thing so wondered is there much benefit to be had from overclocking my 5770, its the powercolor one, or should i bite the bullet and upgrade? I dont actually do much pc gaming more kinda just films. Also wanting to play 3d iso rips on my tv, which is 3d itself so would i need a 3d graphics card or does the tv take care of that side of things. Would i just mount the iso and play it with some software for example?

If you do more pc gaming then general computing it's definitely worth the upgrade. I think you need a graphics card capable for processing 3d images, not exactly sure on this though.

Yeah wasnt sure in that one, read somewhere that i could play half sbs 3d movies from a usb drive and they work fine but no ttried it out yet. I have an ac ryan for movies but thought if needs be i would go down the 3d card route.

Erm I have a HD5770 and have overclocked it very nicely from 850/1200 stock to 960/1450 stable which has given me an extra 15fps in BF3, 19fps in MW3 and an extra 34fps in dirt3.

It is up to you, but an upgrade would be more sufficient.

What did you use to overclock it? Would love a little more performance from mine to tie me over till the 7xxx or 6xx series!

I use MSI Afterburner Beta 9. Bump up the core and memory by 10mhz everytime, detach the monitoring part of the program and run unigine heaven or furmark for 5 - 10 minutes, watch the temps and watch out for artefacts... do this until you get them, then go back to the most stable OC and run furmark for about 30 mins to make sure its stable.

done

Dont have enough posts yet to even look at that lol.

Get posting !!!

I have a Powercolor 5850 PCS+ bought by me from OCUK with Warranty Until April.

I am putting a spare PC together in a smaller case and as it's only a spare I don't need the 5850 so am looking to do a deal similar to this.

He swapped a 5770 xxx edition! for a standard 5850(which ironically he bought off me a couple of weeks ago) +£50. Mine is the 5850 PCS+ Edition.

Review of the card here:

Anyone with a 5770 fancy a trade?
