Thanks to you fine fellows, I've put together my first pc build coming from the mac world for many a moon.

I was content with 3.2 (Q6600 @2.4 stock), load temps around 60-65. Voltage in bios set a 1.38.

I recently discovered a problem in 3dmark where my graphics card wasn't running at the full multiplier. Upping the NB seems to have fixed this. It's also made me think I can squeeze some more performace. I'm addicted :)

I'm sat an hour in stress at 3.4, temps around 65. I've got FSB 425x8 and NB to 1.55. The only thing is Everest /CPU-Z reports the CPU v @ 1.27, whereas I've had to set it a 1.45 in the bios. That's quite a huge difference.

I'm running a standard Asus p5k with the latest bios. Is there anything I can do to pull the voltage down? Will raising the NB another notch help?

in the bios there should be a voltage dampner, increasing the NB volts will not help as it is the vdrop that is causing it, you can do hard mods to the motherboard to stop it altho that will void your warranty

Yeah thought it would be the mobo. Dampner is enabled. I think i'll leave it at the 3.2 settings and be content (try :P).
