Overclock and Bios

I can overclock my pc and run orthos for a few hours and it will be fine but if i restart my pc it just goes back to default settings.

Also sometimes the bios says its overclocked @ 2.66Ghz when that should be default and if i set it toe default it goes to 800mhz.

Anyone know??

what spec is your pc?

E6750 default 2.66ghz
2gb ram

This happens to me a lot, it's really irritating. I think it only happens when using software OC programs. try inputting all og your stuff straight into the bios and saving it?

i am doing it in the bios

edit:ive just restarted and it has changed back to 3.30ghz again.
it has a mind of its own

That really does sounds weird... Are you sure you have no software programs conflicting at boot up? Check msconfig?
