right now down to business, i have a Core 2 Quad 6600 and PC8500 ram on a asus striker mobo now ram only runs at pc6400 due to mobo but wondered if any one has a safe way for me to overclock the FSB to get ram to run 1066mhz ;) i know this should take CPU to 3.2ghz as well ;) which is what i m after

I m a noob when it comes to Overclocking i know how its done etc but never Overclocked a CPU before only done like small oc'ing to gfx cards.

ANy help welcomed.

Hello and welcome to the forums :).

Before Zefan gets in there first, your signature breaks the rules so I'd read the FAQ and change it accordingly.

Regarding your overclocking just increase the FSB in the motherboard. If you leave it 1:1 it will overclock the RAM too automatically.

No advice about Locking the pci-e slot?

Nice advise RobbieG

I would read the sticky in the overclocking section.

And use the search function

It's spelt "advice", and it wasn't intended to be a comprehensive overclocking guide, as I'm sure you realised given that it was only two sentences. Or perhaps you didn't :).
