Far far away....
I was running Prime 95 last night, it had been running for just short of 7 hours, 6h 52m to be precise.

I have sat down this morning and as I opened IE the PC froze and I needed a hard reset. Until that point Prime had passed all its tests.

PC is as follows:

eVGA 680i rev A1 P31 BIOS
Q6600 @ 360 x 9
vCore 1.4125 (BIOS) 1.392 (Windows / CPU-Z)
RAM G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ @ 800Mhz Unlinked 1.9v 5, 5, 5, 5, 24
8800 GTX @ Stock
Swiftech Apex Ultra Watercooled.

Load temps maxed out at 60'

The only voltages that have been changed are the vCore and the RAM voltage.

Share with me your wisdom as to why the PC froze !!!

Which version of Prime95 are you using? The version I have will lock up almost immediately if a web browser is opened.

Prime95 (and orthos) are not perfectly written and can crash your computer.

try nudging the nb up one as well as the vcore

increase on voltage both over the cpu and northbridge as gurusan recommends. The increase should provide the necessary stability required.

Have you ticked "round of checking" before running prime?

The voltage shown in auto ie for example 1.4 the next voltage increment you can set it to will be 1.5 for the northbridge. Adjust cpu in increments of 0.25

What are you auto voltages showing at the moment?

I didn't change any setting in Prime other than run Small FFT's

I will to check what the "Auto" voltages are reporting.
