Not entirely sure if this is the right forum, if not, my apologies.

Just had an odd issue. Had previously Oc'ed, completely stable, no previous issues. I restarted the PC, due to an iTunes problem of all things, and it failed POST, restarted itself a second time, and all is fine, except its wiped all my OC settings from the BIOS and reset to stock. Obviously I can do it again, but anyone have any idea what caused this issue? My specs are in my sig.

Again, sorry if wrong forum!

Mine has done that on the odd occasion, redo the Overclock and you should hopefully be fine.

Still having this problem. Its only if i hit 'restart' that the PC fails post and the OC settings are removed. Makes it a real pain when installing drivers etc does automatic restart. If i 'shutdown' and turn back on again, everything is fine. Restart is def the issue.

Any ideas?

Chips tend to start losing their highest overclock over time.
Your CPU could just be getting on and can't handle what you had it at before, sadly it happens. Try something a little lower

My e6600 has also recently been doing a similar thing...

Its only failed post very occasionally (and like you, only during a soft-reset), but has BSOD'd a few times whilst playing older 3D games at highish settings as well. Lowered the vcore and the overclock on it and it seems to be working fine now, except the frequency is out of sync with my memory, which is operating well under its capabilities... I'm looking at an upgrade, but considering holding out until the ivy bridge arrives. :).

No surprise given its nearly 3 years old and has been running at 40degrees idle for most of its life and over 60 on load (i think i had a duff heatsink/processor/sensor).
