Hi,

If I bought the Streacom ST-F8CS EVO which has heatpipes so silent and put in an i5 3570k which is a 77w cpu (the streacom can handle upto a 95w cpu), as long as I stuck to stock voltages, could I overclock the cpu without it getting any hotter than stock?

Does the temp only go up when you up the voltage?

Matt

It will still go up slightly as its working harder than previous, however the major gains in heat do come from increased voltage

you can overclock a processor without manually adding more vcore the auto setting in the bios will handle the increase but if you do a large overclock you will need to add a lot more voltage than if you do a slight overclock.
