Hi there, I have been trying to OC my RIG :

Gigabyte P965 DS3
2GB OCZ Gold
E6700
Thermaltake 680w Power supply
Antec P180B case

When I set the OC, it POSTS and boots to both Vista and XP without problems. I can run superpi 32M and the temps hardly reach 50.

I have followed the advice in the Gigabyte DS3 thread and upped the voltages etc. So when it runs, it runs perfectly.

The problem is that it keeps resetting. I power it on, set the OC, save and exit. It then boots. If I restart my PC though, it POSTS, resets, POSTS again and all the OC is gone - back to stock 2.66.

I can manually go and OC it each time, it works like that, but it is a pain. Anyone got any ideas as to what may be causing it to reset - and how to override it ?

Did you drop the system memory multiplier of your ram to 2.0x? If not, it's possible that your RAM is pushing over it's stock speeds

faulty memory

Turns out one of my two sticks of RAM is faulty. OCZ dual Gold PC2 6400.

It wont even allow my second machine to POST, never mind boot.

Running on a single stick now and it POSTs and boots just fine.

Think I'm going to get me some Corsair XMS2 6400, seems thats pretty good RAM.
