Hey, well this isn't the first time i've made this thread but I never really got anything concrete last time.
Basicaly, my cpu used to run at 3.4ghz and now putting it above 3ghz can cause it to not even post.
I thought even when I first got my motherboard that it was a bit dodgy so I think it may have just finaly bit the dust but its also doing some other dodgy things. Like i've never been able to get my ram timings to run on 4-4-4-12. Litraly, I set them but the pc doesn't run them. Usualy it bumps the 12 up to 15 or higher I think and used to cause instability when it would randomly keep changing them so I left them on auto. I'm unsure if this is causing my overclocks to become instable.
Anyway, i've tryed using voltages up to 1.45v (in bios not actual) and thats never helped the stability. I've got ram voltage running at 2.15v and they are speced for 2.1v that hasn't helped stability. I've bumped up the mch by 0.2v but hasn't helped.
Whats left to do that I might be missing? It appears that anything over about 333FBS is just a dead zone now but it never used to be.
Any ideas? I'd really like to get it back up to 3.4ghz if possible. I've noticed some games like mafia 2 demo arn't liking it at 3ghz.
:EDIT;
Could a mod move this to the overclocking forum please.
